Ashley Caldwell, Hamilton VA

Snowriders International Founding Commitee Member, Olympic Freestyle Skier

While watching the 2006 Olympic Freestyle Aerials competition on T.V., Ashley got it in her head that she could do what those athletes were doing. . . and she was right. She packed up her bags and 11 years of gymnastics experience and headed for Lake Placid, where she wowed coaches at a US Ski Team tryout camp. At the age of 16, Ashley earned a spot on the National Ski Team and went on to compete in the Vancouver Olympics in 2010 where she placed 10th. After her solid Olympic debut Ashley continued to impress, becoming the youngest person ever to win a Freestyle World Cup and finishing 4th in her first World Championship. In addition to being a gifted athlete, Ashley is also one smart cookie. She earned her GED at 15, and she is on pace to graduate from SUNY with a business degree following the 2014 Games in Sochi.
